FMC encourages shippers to file complaints against ocean carriers

In an article published by Eric Kulisch, Air Cargo Editor on FreightWaves, he reports that the Federal Maritime Commission has updated policies for filing complaints against ocean carriers regarding possible unfair and unreasonable business practices for financial or operational harm. The FMC also states the new guidelines remove disincentives for shippers to file actions against liner companies and reports that this ramp up of scrutiny was caused by the widespread congestion that occurred at the ports.
