New California environmental law puts thousands of truck registrations on hold

Beginning January 2020, the California Department of Motor Vehicles is enforcing the Truck & Bus rule that states, “This regulation requires heavy-duty diesel vehicles that operate in California to reduce toxic air contaminants (TACs) emissions from their exhaust.” This enforcement impacts over 80,000 heavy-duty trucks and are expected to fall under DMV registration holds.
