SAN PEDRO BAY PORTS ANNOUNCE NEW MEASURE TO CLEAR CARGO – Ocean Carriers to be Charged Daily Fee for Containers that Linger on Terminals

In a recent press release from Port of Los Angeles, it reports that ports will start charging ocean carriers for each container that is scheduled to move by truck after nine days or if moving by rail after six days. Port of Los Angeles Executive Director Gene Seroka states that 40% of the containers on the terminals fall into these two categories.
