Labor Commissioner’s Office Files Lawsuits against Uber and Lyft for Engaging in Systemic Wage Theft

In a press release from the Department of Industrial Relations, it states that the Labor Commissioner’s Office has filed lawsuits against Uber and Lyft for misclassifications of their employees as independent contractors. This misclassification is a violation of California labor law.
